20 Restaurants in Kuta Lombok You’ll Love in 2025
This article is all about must-visit cafés and restaurants in Kuta Lombok – and which places you might want to avoid

For me, good food and drinks are an essential part of a perfect (surf) trip. As an absolutely foodie and coffee addict I love enjoying a long brunch in a stylish café after my morning surf session and ending the day with a delicious dinner in good company. That’s why I always love trying out as many places as possible when I travel.
The culinary scene in Lombok has evolved massively in recent years. You can find everything – from local warungs serving authentic Indonesian cuisine to fine dining experiences. Plus, more and more trendy cafés, similar to those in Canggu, are popping up.
When you’re in Lombok, you’ll notice that the options are endless. While I’m writing this article, another new restaurant might already be opening!
What I find particularly cool is that many restaurants host events and special promotions on different days – perfect for saving money or knowing where the action is. I’ve included the current promotions (as of February 2025), but of course, they may change. To stay updated on the latest specials and check out the menus, it’s best to visit the restaurant’s Instagram page, which I’ve linked for you.
In this article, you’ll find my favorite cafés and restaurants in Kuta Lombok!

Important Tips!
1. Beware of Adulterated Alcohol!
Surfer’s Bar is the hotspot for cheap drinks, live music, and a big party on Fridays. It attracts a lot of young, party-loving people, and there’s always something going on. I would have loved to recommend it, but friends who live in Lombok report that alcohol there is often mixed with methanol, and theft has increased significantly. If you still decide to go, stick to beer!
An alternative is Rasta Bar – it’s also lively, but unfortunately, theft happens frequently there as well. I haven’t heard of any methanol-related alcohol scandals, but since the drinks are very cheap, it’s still wise to be cautious!
2. How to Avoid Bali-Belly
You’ve probably heard of Bali Belly – a stomach upset caused by bacteria in food. To minimize the risk, make sure your food, especially in local warungs, is peeled, cooked, boiled, or fried.
3. Die Sache mit den Eiswürfeln
In some countries, ice cubes are made from tap water, which is not recommended for tourists. So you should always be cautious about this. However, on Lombok, even the locals don’t drink tap water – that’s why the ice cubes at restaurants in Kuta Lombok are made from drinking water. You can safely keep them in your drink!
